2024-25 League Award Winners Announced
Allan Cup Hockey League announced this morning the individual award winners for the 2024-25 season.
COACH OF THE YEAR
Mark Ziliotto, of the Wentworth Gryphins, has been named the ACHL coach of the year, leading his team to their second consecutive regular season title with a record of 9-2-1. With the club’s first place finish, they have earned a bye directly to the Robertson Cup Finals.
TRAINER OF THE YEAR
Stephanie King, of the Dundas Real McCoys, has been named Trainer of the Year.
TOP GOALTENDER
For the second straight year, Deniel Svedin of the Stoney Creek Tigers has been named the ACHL’s Top Goaltender. This season, Svedin appeared in six games, collecting a 3-2-0 record and a save percentage of .919. He finished the season with 3.89 goals against average.
LEADING SCORER & MOST VALUABLE PLAYER
Stoney Creek Tigers’ Cordell James captured the leading scorer award and was named the league’s Most Valuable Player. James was a two-point a game player this season, amassing 24 points over 12 contests, scoring ten times. Of his ten goals, two would come with the man advantage. During his first game of the season, James would score a hat trick and collect five points on the night.
Allan Cup Hockey League action continues Saturday night with the start of the Robertson Cup Playoffs. The Stoney Creek Tigers will host the Dundas Real McCoys for Game 1 of the best of three semi-final series at the Gateway Ice Centre starting at 6:30pm. Game 2 of the series goes Friday March 14th at the J.L. Grightmire Arena starting at 7:30pm.
