2025 Allan Cup Challenge Schedule Released

Today, the Ontario Hockey Association, Allan Cup Hockey League and Wentworth Gryphins jointly announced the schedule for the 2025 Allan Cup Challenge. The event will be held April 20th through the 26th at the Harry Howell Arena in Flamborough, Ontario.

This year’s tournament will see a slight change in format as it will feature six teams including the Clarenville Ford Caribous, St. John’s Rooftech Capitals, the Ontario Elite Hockey League (OEHL) Champions, the ACHL’s Stoney Creek Tigers, the 2024 Allan Cup Champion Dundas Real McCoys and the hosts, Wentworth Gryphins.

The teams will compete in two divisions and will only play within their division for the round robin. The team that finishes first in each division will receive a bye to the semi-finals which will be held on Friday April 25th and will face the winners of the crossover quarterfinals which are scheduled for Wednesday April 23rd.

If the winners of quarterfinals are from different divisions, then they will play the Divisional Champion from their opposing Division. However, if the quarterfinal winners come from the SAME division, then the highest seeded team after the completion of the Round Robin would play the lowest seeded team and the second seed would play the remaining team.

Division one will be comprised of Clarenville, Dundas and Stoney Creek while Division two will be comprised of Saint John’s, the OEHL Champions and Wentworth.

For the second consecutive year, CHCH TV will broadcast the championship game coast to coast and online at https://www.chch.com/live/.

Ticket package information for the event will be released at a later date.

The Allan Cup is Canada’s oldest national hockey championship and is awarded annually to the Senior ice hockey champions in Canada and for the first time in its history, will see an AA team from Ontario compete for the title.
