A Perfect 10 For Tigers Home Opener

On Saturday evening, the Stoney Creek Tigers hosted the Dundas Real McCoys for their home opener at their new barn, the Stoney Creek Arena. The home side would explode for ten goals by eight different players.

Ralph Taggart scored for Dundas at the 11:10 mark of the opening period. From there, it was all Stoney Creek Tigers. Mike Ruberton, Bo Webster and Reggie Traccitto all scored within a span of 2:37 to give the Tigers a 3-1 lead after one period.

The Tigers continued to put the goals on the board with Jordan Gignac, Dominik Crnogorac, Traccitto and Dylan Madge collecting tallies, making it a six-goal game. In the third, the McCoys would get a pair of goals, with Aaron Smith and Nolan Sheeran picking up their firsts of the season, but Chris Knighton, Darren McCormick and Crnogorac to complete the scoring.

Matt Sagrott picked up the win for Stoney Creek, his first regular season victory since December 29, 2018. He would stop 26 of the 29 shots he faced. Mike Mole took the loss, surrendering all ten goals on 41 shots.

Crnogorac, Traccitto, Cole Poliziani and Steve Tarasuk each had three points for the Tigers while Sheeran had a goal and an assist for Dundas.

The McCoys will be back in action on Friday night when they travel to Cambridge to face the Hornets to renew their rivalry. Puck drop on Halloween night is 8:00pm. Stoney Creek is next in action at home on Saturday November 1 when they host the Hornets at the Stoney Creek Arena. Game time is 6:30pm.
