Stoney Creek Roars Past McCoys
Stoney Creek returned to the win column on Saturday night, picking up their second win of the season, defeating the Dundas Real McCoys.
The Tigers scored the first five goals of the game. Cole Poliziani scored the lone goal of the first and Mike Ruberto got the only goal of the second. Then in the third Dylan Madge scored the eventual game winner 2:09 into the final frame. Jordan Gignac would score 90 seconds later before Dominik Crnogorac tallied a shorthanded marker for the home side.
Dundas would get on the board late in the third with Brad Bonello scoring his first of the campaign. Ralph Taggart also got his first of the year, scoring with four seconds left on the clock. Between the McCoys goals, Cordell James notched a power play goal to close out the scoring for Stoney Creek.
Tymen Edelkoort made 40 saves on the night, helping the Tigers to the victory while Ryan DeMelo took the loss, allowing six goals on 48 shots he faced.
The teams will have a return engagement on Friday December 6th at the J.L. Grightmire Arena in Dundas for the McCoys home opener. Fans in attendance to the game will get their chance to grab a photo with the Allan Cup. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30pm. The next night, Stoney Creek will be back on home ice at Gateway Ice Center to host the Wentworth Gryphins. Game time is 6:30pm on December 7th.
