Tigers Defeat Hornets In A Spirited Affair

The Cambridge Hornets made their first visit to Stoney Creek on Saturday evening to face the Tigers in the battle of the black and gold teams. While the teams are new to each other, they would have a spirited contest which saw 120 penalty minutes handed out.

It was much of the same in the second as Stoney Creek was scoring almost at will. Jeff Leaist and Bo Webster scored for the home side before Cambridge got one from Greg Bullock at 9:46. The Tigers then reeled off three more goals in last 9:31 of the second period to take an 8-2 lead. Scoring for the Tigers was Dylan Madge, Mike Ruberto and Josh Pietrantonio.

Whalen led the Tigers with five points on the night, collecting a goal and four helpers while eight different Hornets registered a point.
